Savoury Pastry Plaited Roll
Ingredients
- 1 roll Paneton savoury pastry
- 300 g beef or lamb mince
- 1 onion
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 carrot
- 1 celeri stick
- 6 mushrooms
- 2 cups baby spinach leaves
- 1 handful of mint
- 100 g feta
- 1 egg for washing the pastry
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C
- Blitz all veggies in a fine texture
- In a pan, fry the veggies until they are tender and mostly cooked
- Allow to cool before combining with meat
- You will need a large mixing bowl – the best way is to use your hands and squeeze the mix until they are combined
- Line a baking tray with paper and place the pastry
- Add meat mix down the middle
- Press cubes of feta into the centre of the meat mix
- Evenly slice the pastry into strips to plait
- Brush egg wash over the pastry
- Bake 30 to 40 minutes until golden brown
